LAGOS -- Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday released a video showing the killing of five humanitarian workers who were recently abducted in Nigeria's restive Borno state.

The workers, who represented the State Emergency Management Agency, Action Against Hunger, Rich International, and International Rescue Committee, were all executed, the video showed. (Nigeria-Boko Haram)

LISBON -- The president of the union of Foreign and Border Service inspectors Acacio Pereira said on Wednesday that an illegal immigration route from Africa to the Algarve, in the south of Portugal, has recently been formed.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. government's request to close the Chinese Consulate General in Houston is "a political provocation," and "an outrageous and unjustified move which sabotages China-U.S. relations," said the Chinese embassy in the United States on Wednesday.

"The U.S. abruptly demanded that the Chinese Consulate-General in Houston cease all operations and events within a time limit. TRIPOLI -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Wednesday that there are more than 400,000 internally displaced Libyans because of armed conflict.

MOSCOW -- The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Wednesday it had eliminated in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in North Caucasus four suspected members of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
