SINGAPORE, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.28 percent, or 7.18 points, to close at 2,582.97.
A total of 1.62 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.27 billion Singapore dollars (about 920.29 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 237 to 185.
The STI index went down 0.14 percent, or 3.72 points, to close at 2,575.79 on Monday. Enditem
