LAGOS -- Two people were killed and some others injured in a gas blast at a shop in Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub, local officials said Wednesday.

The explosion happened at around 6:58 p.m. local time (1758 GMT) on Tuesday at Ajao Estate area of Lagos, during which several shops were burnt, said Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, head of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency. (Nigeria-Explosion)

TASHKENT -- One man was killed and another injured in a fuel tank explosion in Angor district in the southern Surkhandaryo region of Uzbekistan, the country's emergency ministry said Wednesday.
