TOKYO, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks extended gains Monday morning as investors bought back issues deemed oversold following the Nikkei's six-day losing streak, while a comparatively weak yen helped give exporter issues a boost.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 413.93 points, or 1.91 percent, from Friday to 22,123.93.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 19.54 points, or 1.31 percent, at 1,515.60.
Marine transportation, information and communication, and glass and ceramics product issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
