WARSAW, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Poland's record goalscorer Robert Lewandowski wanted to cancel an agreement to join Bayern Munich in favor of moving to Real Madrid, the player's former agent Cezary Kucharski told Polish site Onet Sport on Sunday.

According to Kucharski, Lewandowski, who signed for Bayern in 2013, also had an offer from Real Madrid, with Onet Sport revealing the draft of the Spanish side's proposal for the Polish striker.

Real's contract for Lewandowski was for six years from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2020. The Pole would receive a signing on bonus of 10.9 million euros, as well as 8.6 million euros per season.

"He wanted to go to Real and withdraw from his Bayern deal. He liked the vision of living and playing in Madrid," Kucharski was quoted as saying.

According to Kucharski, Bayern bosses assured Lewandowski that he would be one of the team's key players, something that Real Madrid weren't so keen to guarantee.

"From the beginning, I thought Bayern was the best option for Robert. He had to be number one at his new club. I couldn't let him suddenly become a backup, even for Real Madrid," concluded the Lewandowski's former agent. Enditem
