KIEV, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian law enforcers seized almost 60 kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of over 200 million Hryvnia (7.2 million U.S. dollars) at the Yuzhny port in the Odessa region, local authorities said on Monday.

The cocaine was hidden in a banana container that arrived from Ecuador and each pack was wrapped in lead packaging, making it difficult to detect the drug, said the prosecutor's office of the Odessa region.

The persons involved in organizing drug smuggling are being identified.

This is the third time a large consignment of cocaine was seized at the Yuzhny port since the beginning of the year.

In February, law enforcement officers found over 30 kg of the drug in a container with cars from Chile and in May another 53.4 kg in a container with bananas from Ecuador. Enditem
