WASHINGTON -- Hurricane Isaias on Monday night made a landfall in southern U.S. state North Carolina, causing flooding and damaging homes on its way up the coast.

The Category 1 storm landed near Ocean Isle Beach, with maximum sustained winds of 85 mph (about 136.8 kmph), according to local media reports. (US-Hurricane-Landfall)

YANGON -- Myanmar has registered 4,121 dengue infections with 32 deaths over first six months of this year, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports on Monday.

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Suspected militants abducted a trooper belonging Territorial Army (TA) in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said Monday.

The trooper has been missing since Sunday evening and his burnt car was found in Kulgam district, about 68 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (Kashmir-Militants-Abduction)

ALGIERS -- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune Monday announced that his country "is reviewing the possibility to reopen mosques for the public," the official APS news agency reported.
