JAKARTA, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency and Customs Office in Bali have arrested a student from Puerto Rico identified as JO for consuming marijuana in the form of chocolate cakes.

"The cakes were found to contain marijuana following a test conducted together with the Customs Office," head of the agency's narcotics eradication unit in Bali, I Putu Agus Arjaya, told a press conference in the Bali provincial capital of Denpasar on Tuesday.

"Knowing that marijuana is illegal in Indonesia, the suspect dissimulated it in cakes which were produced in his country and sent by his family to him in packages mixed with clothes and toys," said Arjaya.

"Marijuana in the cakes is for self-consumption. Data showed no indications of inviting anyone else to consume the illicit goods. The suspect said he has been consuming marijuana for two years," Arjaya added.

After getting reports from the public about a postal package suspected of containing marijuana, officers immediately conducted delivery control to Abiansemal district and arrested the suspect on June 25. Enditem
