YEREVAN, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Armenia on Wednesday announced the extension of the country's state of emergency for another month.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said at a briefing in Yerevan that the state of emergency will be prolonged by another month in Armenia.

However, he noted that some of the restrictions will be eased.

"Especially, the issue of entry of foreigners to Armenia, restrictions on exporting goods, holding rallies and public events will be reviewed," he said.

This will most likely be the last extension of the state of emergency in Armenia, he added.

Armenia on July 13 announced that the country's state of emergency, originally declared on March 16, would be extended to Aug. 12.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the country reached 39,586 on Wednesday, according to the Armenian government. Enditem
