DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tanzania's weather authorities on Thursday issued an alert over a five-day severe weather impact of strong winds and large waves along the entire east African nation's coastal line.

"Be prepared over disruption of marine activities, delays of ferries and the tearing off of weak house roofs," warned the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA).

In its latest weather forecast, TMA warned of strong winds reaching 50 kilometers per hour and large waves reaching 2.5 meters along the entire Indian Ocean coast regions of Lindi, Mtwara, Tanga, Dar es Salaam and Coast, including Mafia Island and Zanzibar's twin Islands of Pemba and Unguja.

TMA also gave an advisory over strong winds reaching 40 kilometers per hour in Lake Nyasa.

On July 30, at least 10 people were killed after a boat capsized in Tanzania's Lake Tanganyika due to a powerful storm. Enditem
