SARAJEVO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Zoran Tegeltija, chairman of the Council of Ministers (CoM) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), sent a list of ten priority infrastructure projects to the European Commission, said the CoM on Thursday.

The ten projects will be used to develop the Western Balkans Economic and Investment Plan, which was announced by the European Commission in the Zagreb Summit Declaration on May 6, 2020. The plan could support the start-up economic activities, promote trade flows, create jobs and facilitate the integration of the region to the European Union.

All projects from the list are focusing on the transport and energy sectors. The transport projects include the construction of one highway section, four motorway sections, one railway section as well as the reconstruction and electrification of two other railway sections.

The construction of the highway section between Vukosavlje and Doboj in the central part of BiH is a part of the Pan-European 5C corridor that runs from Hungary in the north via BiH to the Adriatic Coast in the south of Croatia. Part of the road is being built by China State Construction Engineering Corporation.

Two energy sector projects include the gas pipeline from Travnik in central BiH to the southern Croatian town of Zagvozd. The other one is the Buk Bijela 94-megawatt hydropower plant, planned on the Drina River in the eastern part of BiH. Enditem
