WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that he has determined to re-impose a 10-percent tariff on aluminum from Canada, according to a newly released presidential proclamation.

The 10-percent tariff will take effect on Aug. 16, and "shall continue in effect, unless such actions are expressly reduced, modified, or terminated, " the proclamation read. (US-Canada-Aluminum Tariff)

NEW YORK -- Global COVID-19 deaths surpassed 710,000 on Thursday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

WASHINGTON -- Governor Mike DeWine of U.S. midwestern state of Ohio, a key swing state in the 2020 U.S. elections, announced on Thursday that he has tested positive for coronavirus, just ahead of President Donald Trump's planned visit.

NOUAKCHOTT -- Thirty-nine illegal migrants died Thursday after their boat sank in international waters off Nouadhibou, the economic capital of Mauritania, a security source told Xinhua.
