MOSCOW, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Russian law enforcement officers killed two suspected terrorists and detained another on Thursday in the Republic of Ingushetia, the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee said Friday.

Russian security agencies cordoned off the houses where the suspects settled after receiving information about the presence of armed bandits, the committee said in a statement.

The suspects were asked to lay down their arms and surrender, but they opened fire in response, the statement said, adding that two of them were neutralized and another detained after a short shootout.

There were no casualties among law enforcement officers or civilians, while weapons, ammunition and an improvised explosive device were found at the scene of the clash, it said.

According to available information, the suspects intended to commit a number of terrorist crimes in the Republic of Ingushetia located in North Caucasus, it added. Enditem
