KIEV, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The head of the Ukrainian President's Office Andriy Yermak said the country hopes that the Trilateral Contact Group will agree on lists for the mutual release of detainees in eastern Ukraine during its next meeting, the president's press service reported on Friday.
"We hope that at the next meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group the lists for the exchange will be finally agreed. We hope that within a few weeks we will be able to talk about specific dates for the exchange," Yermak said during his trip to eastern Ukraine.
Kiev completed the previous exchange of detainees with non-government-controlled areas in eastern Ukraine, bringing back 20 citizens and sending 14 to the non-government-controlled areas on April 16.
The detainees exchange is one of the steps aimed at ending the six-year conflict in eastern Ukraine, which has claimed more than 13,000 lives and left 30,000 wounded. Enditem
