BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed higher Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.75 percent at 3,379.25 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.06 percent higher at 13,657.31 points.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index on Monday moved down 2.39 points, or 0.18 percent to close at 1,322.01 points.

Some 15.86 billion shares worth 37.42 billion baht (about 1.21 billion U.S. dollars) changed hands.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed higher on Monday. All the sectoral indices ended in the green led by the pharma, bank, auto, FMCG and IT. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices ended with over 1 percent gain.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Monday.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh City bourse in southern Vietnam, closed at 843.2 points on Monday, up 1.74 points or 0.21 percent against the previous trading day.

Some 309.3 million shares worth nearly 4.9 trillion Vietnamese dong (211.7 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange. Specifically, foreign investors bought 19 million shares totaling 407 billion Vietnamese dong (17.7 million U.S. dollars), and sold nearly 23 million shares totaling 595 billion Vietnamese dong (25.9 million U.S. dollars).

Nearly 55.8 million shares worth approximately 595.2 billion Vietnamese dong (25.9 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Monday. Specifically, foreign investors bought 685,700 shares valued at roughly 8.6 billion Vietnamese dong (371,900 U.S. dollars), and sold nearly 1.5 million shares valued at roughly 10.9 billion Vietnamese dong (473,500 U.S. dollars).

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished lower on Monday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) Index down 1.53 points, or 0.23 percent, to close at 667.81.

A total of 26,584 shares worth 365.8 million riels (89,346 U.S. dollars) was traded, the CSX said, adding that 61 percent of the traded shares belonged to the ACLEDA Bank Plc (ABC).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 154.19 points, or 0.63 percent, to 24,377.43 points on Monday.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand stock market's indicator, the S&P/NZX 50 index, jumped by 0.32 percent to 11,683 on Monday.

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market closed near a three-week high on Monday following an encouraging decline in the U.S unemployment rate and an extension of key economic support measures by President Donald Trump.
