SINGAPORE, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.75 percent, or 19.05 points, to close at 2,563.2.
A total of 1.63 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.63 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.19 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 220 to 215.
The STI index went down 0.05 percent, or 1.36 points, to close at 2,544.15 on Tuesday. Enditem
