German shares rise 0.86 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks gained on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 111.74 points, or 0.86 percent, to close at 13,058.63 points.

Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.45 percent. Personal-care company Beiersdorf and energy group RWE rose by 2.14 percent and 2.06 percent respectively.

Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 3.02 percent. Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard went down by 1.44 percent.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 212.54 million euros (251 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 3.68 percent to close at 0.75 euros per share. Enditem
