WELLINGTON -- New Zealand reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, including one in managed isolation and quarantine facilities, and 13 cases of community transmission were related to Tuesday's four cases from an Auckland family.

The case in managed isolation was a woman in her 30s who arrived in New Zealand from the Philippines on Aug. 8. She has been in managed isolation at the Distinction Hotel and tested positive around day 3 of her stay, Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield told a press conference. (New Zealand-COVID-19)

NEW DELHI -- India's federal health ministry on Thursday confirmed that total deaths in the country due to COVID-19 have surpassed the 47,000-mark, reaching 47,033, as the total cases reached 2,396,637.

Over the past 24 hours, a total of 66,999 new cases were added to the tally, and as many as 942 people died, according to the data. (India-COVID-19)

SEOUL -- South Korea reported 56 more cases of the COVID-19 as of 0:00 a.m. Thursday local time compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 14,770.

The daily caseload stayed above 50 for two straight days due to the continued small cluster infections and imported cases.

CANBERRA -- The number of unemployed Australians actively looking for work has surpassed 1 million for the first time.

According to data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), which is in Canberra, on Thursday the unemployment rate was 7.5 percent in July - up from 7.4 percent in June - the highest level since November 1998.
