HO CHI MINH CITY -- A boat carrying eight people has capsized in Vietnam's southern Ben Tre province, leaving two dead and two others missing, Vietnam News Agency reported on Friday.

On Thursday afternoon, eight people took a wooden boat to Ba Lai river in Ba Tri District in the province to go fishing. The boat later capsized due to strong winds and waves, the news agency quoted local authorities as saying. (Vietnam-Ship Wreck-Casualty)

NEW DELHI -- Rescuers on Friday recovered bodies of six people who were trapped inside a hydroelectric power plant that caught fire in India's southern state of Telangana.

The fire broke out Thursday night in its under-tunnel powerhouse of the Srisailam hydroelectric power plant, which is near Telangana's border with Andhra Pradesh. Following the fire, nine people were trapped inside the power plant. (India-Power Plant-Fire)

MOGADISHU -- Somali security forces on Thursday evening killed 10 al-Shabab extremists in a fierce fight on the outskirts of Bosaso town in the northern region of Bari, an official said Friday.

DAR ES SALAAM -- At least eight people, including a one-year-old baby, were killed and 27 others were injured on Friday morning after a bus overturned on a steep slope in Tanzania's northwestern region of Kagera, said police.
