BOGOTA -- The Colombian government announced on Saturday that it would deliver a 370 million-U.S.-dollar loan to the country's Avianca Airlines, which is currently undergoing a restructuring process after filing for bankruptcy protection in the United States.
According to a statement released by the Colombian Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the operation must first "be evaluated and authorized by the judge" in charge of the bankruptcy case. (Colombia-Avianca-Loan)

LONDON -- The first China International Import Expo (CIIE)-themed airplane departing from east China's Shanghai has arrived at Heathrow Airport in London, according to a press release sent to Xinhua on Saturday.
The special CIIE-themed aircraft, landing in London on Thursday, was jointly launched by China Eastern Airlines (China Eastern) and China International Import Expo Bureau. Its maiden flight was completed on July 4, when the plane flew from Shanghai to Paris. London is the second destination of the airplane's global tour. (Britain-China-CIIE)

NEW YORK -- Wall Street's major averages finished the past week on an upbeat note, with the Dow rising more than 160 points to erase its losses for the year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 161.6 points, or 0.57 percent, to end at 28,653.87 on Friday. The S&P 500 increased 0.67 percent to 3,508.01. The Nasdaq Composite Index climbed 0.6 percent to 11,695.63. (US-Stocks)

HANOI -- Nguyen Huy Phong, a 50-year-old farmer from a hamlet in Vietnam's central Binh Thuan province, has sold over 10 tons of dragon fruits from his 0.6-hectare farm so far this year, while he still expects a higher price of his harvest.
