BRATISLAVA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- MSK Zilina climbed to second place in Slovakia's soccer league Fortuna Liga on Sunday after crushing Michalovce 6-2 at home.
After losing to the New Saints in Wales on Thursday in the Europa League qualifiers, Zilina vented its anger on Michalovce in the domestic league.
21-year-old Polish striker Dawid Kurminowski opened the scoring with a penalty, before laying on two more goals for his teammates and finally sealing the victory with a beautiful long-range effort in the 74th minute to underline his role as the key player of the match.
His teammate Vahan Bichakhchyan from Armenia scored Zilina's fifth goal of the match and is now leading scorer in the Fortuna Liga with four goals from five matches.
As for other matches on Sunday, Dunajska Streda continued their 100 percent record, bringing home their fifth victory in five matches of the new season.
After a successful trip to Iceland in the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday to eliminate Hafnarfjodur, Streda beat ViOn Zlate Moravce 2-1 away from home. Enditem
