MANAMA -- Senior Bahraini officials on Saturday welcomed the kingdom's normalization with Israel as a contributor to regional security and stability, the state Bahrain News Agency reported.

"The move will serve Bahrain's top interests and help consolidate (regional) security and stability, and promote progress and prosperity," said Interior Minister Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. (Bahrain-Normalization with Israel-Peace)

TEHRAN -- Iranian medical scientists will soon start human trials for an anti-coronavirus vaccine after the stage of animal trials has passed, official news agency IRNA reported Saturday.

"We hope these activities will bear the desired result in order to provide better preventive services for the people," Jalil Koohpayehzadeh, dean of Iran University of Medical Sciences and a member of Tehran anti-coronavirus committee, told IRNA. (Iran-COVID-19)

KUWAIT CITY -- A huge fire erupted Saturday afternoon at the Al-Sabah health zone in Kuwait City, capital of Kuwait, and the fire has been brought under control, the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) said.

Currently, more than 300 firefighters are trying to extinguish the fire that gutted in a parking lot of a building under construction in the health zone, KFSD said in a press statement. (Kuwait-Fire)

ANKARA -- Turkey and Britain conducted joint naval drilling in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Turkish defense ministry said Saturday.
