KABUL, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- A teenage girl was killed and 25 civilians were wounded in two bomb explosions in Afghanistan on Saturday, provincial officials confirmed.

In northern Balkh province, the girl was killed and five people, including two children, were wounded after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on the side of a traffic circle was detonated in provincial capital Mazar-i-Sharif city late in the evening, Adel Shah Adel, provincial police spokesman, told Xinhua.

The obvious target of the attack remained unknown.

In eastern Paktika province, 20 civilians aboard a tractor were wounded after the vehicle touched off an IED planted along a dusty road in Jani Khil district, Shah Mohammad Arian from the provincial police told Xinhua.

The victims were travelling to attend a wedding in a village in the mountainous region.

The officials blamed Taliban for planting the IEDs. The Taliban outfit, however, did not respond to the report. Enditem
