MADRID, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iago Aspas scored twice as Celta Vigo won 2-1 at home to Valencia on Saturday night in the new La Liga season.

The Celta captain opened the scoring from Nolito's pass after 15 minutes in an entertaining match which saw Celta play some impressive football.

Valencia got a flying start to the season a week ago when they twice fought back from behind before winning 4-2 at home to Levante, and another fightback looked to be on the cards when Maxi Gomez scored an impressive goal in the first minute of the second half following a pass from Daniel Wass.

The final word was for Aspas, however, as he scored an intelligent free-kick that went over the wall and dipped quickly in the 57th minute.

Elsewhere, Villarreal came back from a goal down to take their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory at home to Eibar.

Kike Gonzalez put Eibar ahead in the 50th minute, but two goals in an eight-minute spell on 62 and 70 minutes from Gerard Moreno and Paco Alcacer gave Unai Emery his first triumph at the club and also highlighted the attacking talent at his disposal.

Moreno's goal was exceptional as he controlled the ball in the Eibar area before turning, leaving his marker and scoring with a shot to the far post. Alcacer kept his cool after beating the offside trap.

Jaime Mata's second half goal saw Getafe start their season with a 1-0 win at home to Osasuna. The goal scored from close range was confirmed by a VAR review after Mata had looked to be offside. Enditem
