Pakistan's leather manufactures exports gain 8.39 pct in first 2 months of FY2021

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's leather manufactures exports during the first two months of the current fiscal year (FY) 2021 (from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021) grew by 8.39 percent as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of last fiscal year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics(PBS) said on Monday.

During the months of July and August, leather manufactures valuing 98,232,000 U.S. dollars were exported as compared to the exports of 90,626,000 U.S. dollars in the same period of last fiscal year, according to the data released by the PBS.

The statistics showed that leather garments worth 52,531,000 U.S. dollars were exported in the first two months of FY2021 as compared to leather garments worth 51,411,000 U.S. dollars of the same period of last fiscal year, reflecting an increase of 2.18 percent.

Similarly, the exports of leather gloves surged by 15.26 percent. Leather gloves worth 43,109,000 U.S. dollars were also exported during July and August of the current financial year as compared to the exports valuing 37,400,000 U.S. dollars of the same period of last fiscal year, the statistics added.

The exports of all other lather manufactures soared by 42.81 percent during the period under review as exports went up from 1,815,000 U.S. dollars to 2,592,000 U.S. dollars during July and August of the current fiscal year. Enditem
