JAKARTA, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Fachrul Razi had tested positive for COVID-19, a special staff member to the minister said in a statement on Monday.

Razi's special staff member Kevin Haikal said the minister was aware that he had contracted COVID-19 after undergoing a swab test for the virus on Thursday last week.

The minister had "no worrisome symptoms," Haikal said.

Separately, the ministry's spokesman Oman Fathurahman said the minister had delegated his tasks to his deputy Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi and given directives regarding bureaucracy works to related officials at the ministry. Enditem
