Turkey reports 1,692 new COVID-19 cases, 306,302 in total

ANKARA, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's total number of COVID-19 cases increased by 1,692 to 306,302 on Tuesday, the Turkish Health Ministry announced.

Meanwhile, 65 people died from the coronavirus in Turkey in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 7,639, according to the data shared by the ministry.

A total of 1,261 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, raising the total recoveries to 269,696 in Turkey since the outbreak in March.

Turkish health professionals conducted 114,311 tests in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall number of tests to 9,496,268.

Turkey reported the first COVID-19 case on March 11.
