BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported one new imported case of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the national tally to 146.
According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, the patient is a 29-year-old local male who arrived at Brunei on Sept. 18 from India. The man reportedly showed no signs of infection and is currently being treated at the National Isolation Center.
The Ministry of Health has identified a total of five contacts, of which three have undergone the COVID-19 swab tests and the results were negative, while the rest are still awaiting test results. All of them are undergoing quarantine.
This is the second confirmed case reported in Brunei this month. Brunei reported another imported case on Sept. 3, who is a 33-year-old local male back from Indonesia.
Meanwhile, 428 individuals are currently undergoing mandatory self-isolation at monitoring centers provided by the government, who have arrived in the country after traveling abroad.
There have been three deaths from COVID-19 in Brunei and a total of 142 patients have recovered. Enditem
