TOKYO, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Friday as investor sentiment was buoyed by Wall Street bouncing back overnight with buying partly driven by housing data for August that beat median market expectations.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 105.70 points, or 0.46 percent, from Thursday to 23,193.52.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 6.99 points, or 0.43 percent, at 1,633.43.
Glass and ceramic product, warehousing and harbor transportation service, and pulp and paper issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
