BISHKEK, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The total number of COVID-19 cases in Kyrgyzstan rose to 45,932 on Friday, after the country reported 175 new cases in the past day, said the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 142 people recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 42,147, while 643 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals and 1,641 others are receiving treatment at home, the headquarters said.

So far, 1,063 people have died from the disease in the country since the pandemic, the headquarters said.

As precaution against a possible second wave of coronavirus outbreak, the country's health ministry has developed and approved a training program on COVID-19 for a team of doctors and nurses, aiming to provide high-quality medical care to patients infected with COVID-19.

The team will include experienced doctors of various specialties and will be deployed in each region of the country, according to the ministry. Enditem
