TOKYO, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday following Wall Street's upbeat lead late last week, with dividend buying for the first half of the business year also lifting the market.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 149.67 points, or 0.65 percent, from Friday to 23,354.29.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 10.79 points, or 0.66 percent, at 1,645.02.
