Vivo announces to launch new smartphone in Kenya

NAIROBI, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese smartphone maker Vivo announced on Tuesday that it will launch the new smartphone Vivo Y20 in Kenya on October 8.

According to a statement by the company, the upcoming device will be a new addition to Vivo's youth-oriented and affordable Y-series.

"The Vivo Y20 will be equipped with an irresistible AI Triple camera supporting macro, bokeh, and other advanced selfie features to play around with for effortless photography, aside fingerprint scanner, and a super-capacity 5,000 mAh battery supported by power-saving technology that a single full charge can last up to 16 hours of online HD movie streaming, or 11 hours of resource-intensive gaming," the company said.

According to the firm, the Y20 smartphone which will retail at 17,599 shillings (163 U.S. dollars) is going to be a complete mix of trendy technologies and a stylish look and it is highly anticipated for its dynamic camera features and long-lasting battery life and sleek design.

Vivo said that the overall design of the device is teased to be sleek and polished, sporting a 6.51-inch Halo Display with an elongated aspect ratio of 20:9 and HD+ (1600 x 720) resolution that ensures crystal clear visuals and detailing for immersive viewing and gaming experience.

"The modern scanner on the side is built to complement the design and allow hassle-free unlocking taking only 0.22 seconds to unlock, this is complementary to the facial unlock feature," the company said. Enditem
