DHAKA -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Bangladeshi government Tuesday signed agreement for 3 million U.S. dollars in grant for procuring urgent medical supplies including vaccine for the COVID-19.

Fatima Yasmin, secretary of Bangladesh's Economic Relations Division (ERD), and Manmohan Parkash, country director of ADB in Bangladesh, Tuesday virtually signed the grant agreement on behalf of Bangladesh and ADB, respectively. (Bangladesh-ADB-COVID-19)

HONG KONG -- With impressive sales in two live-streaming shows recently, analysts believe Hong Kong can learn from the successful e-commerce experience of the mainland to inject new impetus into an economy reeling from the COVID-19 fallout.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 recovery rate leaped past 83 percent on Tuesday, as the number of recovered cases exceeded the new confirmed cases once again during the past 24 hours, said the federal health ministry.

According to an official statement, as many as 84,877 recoveries have been registered in the past 24 hours in the country, while the number of new confirmed cases stood at 70,589. (India-COVID-19-Recovery Rate)

HONG KONG -- The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) warned Tuesday that any wanton acts to instigate violent protests during the upcoming holiday on the pretext of an illegal boundary-crossing case will not be condoned under the national security law in Hong Kong.

The illegal boundary-crossing of 12 Hong Kong residents are being dealt with according to the law and the liaison office firmly supports the HKSAR government and the police in enforcing the law resolutely to ensure peaceful Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, a spokesperson of the liaison office said in a statement.
