TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan -- At least 21 Taliban militants have been killed and 17 wounded during clashes and airstrikes in Afghanistan's southern Uruzgan province, a provincial government spokesman said Thursday.

LOS ANGELES -- Over 5,000 employees at the Disneyland resort in California's Orange County are to be laid off as the COVID-19 pandemic has hammered its business, a local newspaper reported Wednesday.

The company announced Tuesday that 28,000 employees would be laid off at Disneyland, Disney World, Imagineering and in the company's cruise line, travel planning, gaming and publishing divisions. (US-Disney-Layoff)

QUITO -- Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno on Wednesday announced the board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a 6.5-billion-U.S.-dollar loan agreement reached at the end of August.
