NEW DELHI -- Hundreds of people Friday evening gathered at Jantar Mantar in the heart of Indian capital city New Delhi to protest against the gangrape and murder of a young Dalit woman in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

TOKYO -- Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike said Friday that the Japanese capital is mulling extending the loan period of giant panda Xiang Xiang's parents, male panda Ri Ri and female Shin Shin.

CANBERRA -- Australian doctors have warned against rapid coronavirus tests, saying they are unreliable.

NEW DELHI -- The Indian Medical Association (IMA), an association of doctors in India, said Friday over 500 doctors have died in the line of duty during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
