BELGRADE, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Serbian audience enjoyed a concert of the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra and its chorus at the Mount Huashan, which was re-broadcasted on Thursday at Serbia's national television on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The concert was staged at a steep cliff on Mount Huashan in northwest China's Shaanxi Province in July this year. Shrouded by mist and clouds, the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra performed traditional Chinese music and Western symphony classics on top of the mountain that has an altitude of over 2,000 meters.

Serbian viewers told Xinhua their admiration for the performance, as well as for the beauty of one of China's five sacred mountains, shrouded in mist and clouds.

Mount Huashan, one of China's most famous scenic mountains, is known for its steep and perilous peaks.

"The orchestra was truly brilliant as well as the location of the performance itself. It offered a view to a wide panorama, a magnificent landscape filled with pleasant music, and it was truly magical. I enjoyed it so much," said Sladjana Strugarevic, a Chinese language student from Novi Sad, a city in northern Serbia.

Lazar Stojanovic, a legal expert from the capital city of Belgrade, said that it was "an enchanting concert" which showed how music can connect people and bridge long distances between them.

"A remarkable orchestra from Xi'an has brought a blend of European and Chinese musical treasure to the magnificent mountain slopes of Mount Huashan, and I enjoyed it," he said.

Originally, the concert was broadcasted online as part of the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra's Return of the Art Season 2020, after a break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Enditem
