Colombia reports over 900,000 COVID-19 cases

BOGOTA, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- The COVID-19 infections in Colombia rose to 902,747 after tests detected 8,447 new cases in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said Saturday.

The country's death toll climbed to 27,660 after 165 more fatalities were reported over the past day, said the ministry.

A total of 783,131 patients have recovered, it added.

The Colombian government extended the selective quarantine phase till the end of October in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Enditem
