NEW DELHI -- Chinese Embassy in India made a solemn statement Friday lodging strong representation and firm opposition against an Indian media interview advocating "Taiwan independence."

TRIPOLI -- The Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to Libya, Stephanie Williams, on Friday held meetings with Libyan mayors, and discussed their concerns about the political process.

KABUL -- Seven civilians were killed and five others wounded in two improvised bomb explosions in Afghanistan on Friday, authorities confirmed.

BEIRUT -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun emphasized on Friday the keenness of Lebanon to reach fair solutions to maritime border demarcation with Israel, a statement by the Lebanese Presidency reported.
