TEHRAN -- Iran's Health Ministry reported 253 news COVID-19 death cases on Saturday, bringing the total fatality over the epidemic in Iran to 30,123.

According to Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, 4,103 new patients were diagnosed over the past 24 hours, raising the total confirmed number in the country to 526,490. (Iran-COVID-19)

CAIRO -- Egypt officially reopened on Saturday tens of thousands of schools for millions of students across the country to start the new academic year while implementing precautionary measures against the COVID-19.

The plan of the Ministry of Education for the 2020/2021 academic year is based on maintaining social distancing, sufficient ventilation and regular disinfection at schools, while raising awareness of students and parents about the pandemic and necessary precautions. (Egypt-Schools-COVID-19)

ISTANBUL -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Saturday that Turkey found more gas reserves in the Black Sea.

"As a result of testing, analysis, and detailed engineering work, another 85 billion cubic meters were added to the reserves we had discovered," Erdogan said onboard the Fatih drillship in the Black Sea. (Turkey-Black Sea-Gas Reserves)

CAIRO -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks on Saturday with his Spanish counterpart Arancha Gonzalez Laya on bilateral relations and regional issues, and the two signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for political consultation.
