U.S. aircraft makes emergency landing in S. Afghanistan

KABUL, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. military aircraft made an emergency landing in an airport in Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan on Sunday, the coalition confirmed.

"A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster made an emergency landing at Kandahar Airfield this morning," U.S. Forces- Afghanistan which is part of NATO-led coalition tweeted.

No injuries have been reported and the airfield is open only to military traffic, the military said.

The coalition denied the involvement of militants' activity in the incident, saying "enemy activity was not involved."
