WASHINGTON -- Five people including three college students were injured in a gas explosion at a strip mall in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on Saturday morning, local media reported.

GENEVA -- A total of 392,471 new COVID-19 infections were reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) on Saturday, a record high since the onset of the pandemic, taking the total number of confirmed cases worldwide to 39,196,259.

FIROZ KOAH, Afghanistan -- At least 16 people were killed and 90 others wounded after a powerful explosion rocked outside a provincial police office in Firoz Koah, capital of Afghanistan's western Ghor province on Sunday, a local official confirmed.

ISLAMABAD -- Dozens of shops were burnt to ashes in a high-intensity fire that broke out in a famous electronics plaza in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore on Sunday, local media and rescue officials said.
