PHNOM PENH -- Flash floods in Cambodia have so far claimed 25 lives and forced the evacuation of 37,396 people, Seak Vichet, a spokesman for the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), said on Monday.

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi security forces on Monday launched an offensive to hunt down extremist Islamic State (IS) militants in one of their major hideouts in Salahudin Province, a provincial police source said.

DAMASCUS -- Turkish forces continued preparations on Monday to withdraw from areas controlled by the Syrian government forces in the countryside of the provinces of Hama and Idlib in northwestern Syria, a war monitor reported.
