Vietnam records 3 new COVID-19 cases, 1,144 in total

HANOI, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported three new cases of COVID-19 infection on Wednesday, raising its total confirmed cases to 1,144 with 35 deaths, according to its Ministry of Health.

The new cases who are all Vietnamese include a 46-year-old woman, a 33-year-old woman and her eight-month-old child, said the ministry, noting that all of them have recently entered the country from abroad and were quarantined upon arrival, said the ministry.

The ministry also announced that as many as 1,046 patients have been given all-clear as of Wednesday.

Meanwhile, over 13,900 people are being quarantined and monitored in the country, the ministry said.

Vietnam has gone through 49 straight days without any COVID-19 cases in the community, according to the ministry. Enditem
