SINGAPORE, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.36 percent, or 8.98 points, to close at 2,537.39.
A total of 1.25 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 928.73 million Singapore dollars (about 685.01 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 213 to 177.
The STI index went up 0.11 percent, or 2.80 points, to close at 2,528.41 on Thursday. Enditem
