Macao SAR gov't to amend laws on national flag, emblem

MACAO, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The government of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) will initiate the amendments to Macao's laws on the national flag and the national emblem, said a government official Friday.

Secretary for Administration and Justice Cheong Weng Chon said during a press conference that according to the Article 18 of the Basic Law of Macao SAR, the national laws listed in Attachment III, such as the laws on the national flag and the national emblem, shall be applied in Macao by way of promulgation or legislation.

Cheong added that the SAR government will amend the local laws according to the latest amendments adopted by China's top legislature.
