German shares gain 0.82 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 102.69 points, or 0.82 percent, to close at 12,645.75 points.

Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 6.71 percent. Pharmaceutical company Merck and multinational chemical firm Linde gained by 3.05 percent and 2.24 percent respectively.

European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero, real estate company Vonovia and Deutsche Post were the top three losers among the blue chips, by falling 0.89 percent, 0.60 percent and 0.47 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 217.97 million euros (258.43 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 2.06 percent to close at 0.760 euros per share on Friday. Enditem
