WASHINGTON -- Two crew members of a U.S. Naval aircraft were killed as their plane crashed Friday in the southern U.S. state of Alabama.

The ill-fated jet was a T-6B Texan II training aircraft, which crashed at about 5 p.m. local time (2200 GMT) in Foley, Alabama, a town near the Gulf Coast, the U.S. Naval Air Forces said in a statement. (US-Plane Crash-Alabama)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said Friday that if elected, he will make COVID-19 vaccines free for all Americans.

"Once we have a safe and effective vaccine, it has to be free to everyone -- whether or not you're insured," Biden said in a speech in Wilmington, Delaware. BUENOS AIRES -- Argentina decided to prolong its isolation and social distancing measures meant to control the spread of the novel coronavirus until Nov. 8, President Alberto Fernandez announced on Friday.

CHICAGO -- The 56th Chicago International Film Festival (CIFF) announced winners of its 2020 competitions in a virtual live-streamed ceremony on Friday with an array of films nabbing top awards.
