The country's Health Ministry announced the first three confirmed COVID-19 cases on March 8.

As the virus continues to spread, the Bangladeshi government on Sunday launched the "No Mask, No Service" policy at all offices in the country.

The government is also seeking soft loans from partners including the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to procure COVID-19 vaccines and boost economic recovery after months of shutdown of offices and workplaces.

Earlier this month, the Bangladeshi government cancelled one of the country's major public examinations this year and extended the closure of all educational institutions till Oct. 31.

The country's Education Minister Dipu Moni has said it is unlikely that the educational institutes will be reopened across the country in November amid fear of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Enditem
