TOKYO, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Wednesday, following a mixed lead from Wall Street overnight, with investors keenly eyeing more domestic earnings reports this week from firms for the fiscal first half ended last month.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 93.77 points, or 0.40 percent, from Tuesday to 23,392.03.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 7.53 points, or 0.47 percent, at 1,610.00.
Insurance, iron and steel, and real estate-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
