TOKYO, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning after Wall Street's weak lead overnight, with a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in some European countries and the United States weighing on the market mood.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 75.04 points, or 0.32 percent, from Tuesday to 23,410.76.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 9.92 points, or 0.61 percent, at 1,607.61.

Insurance, iron and steel and mining-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break. Enditem
